FUNCTION CODE 08; Issue Original standard airworthiness certificates for US –registered aircraft and original airworthiness approvals for engines , propellers, 14 CFR parts and appliances that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation. Limitations; None
FUNCTION CODE 09; Issue Special airworthiness certificates , in the experimental category , for the purpose of showing compliance with 14 CFR Chapter 1, for US-Registered aircraft which have under gone changes to the type design and require flight test prior to the issuance/reissuance of an airworthiness certificate. Limitations; None
FUNTION CODE 11; Issue Original/Recurrent special airworthiness certificates, in the experimental category , for the purpose of performing market survey, research and development, and crew training on U.S. registered aircraft. Limitations; None
FUNTION CODE 12: Issue original/recurrent special airworthiness certificates, in the experimental category, for the purpose of air racing and operating exhibition U.S.-registered aircraft located in the United States.
FUNTION CODE 13: Issue original special airworthiness certificates for U.S.-registered restricted category aircraft, including aircraft built from spare and surplus parts or surplus military aircraft.
FUNCTION CODE 15; Issue Original/Recurrent special airworthiness certificates for limited category aircraft. Limitations; None
FUNCTION CODE 16; Issue Special flight permits for U.S.- registered aircraft for the purposes outlined in 14 CFR Part 21, sections 21.197(a)(1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and 21.197(b). Limitations; None
FUNCTION CODE 17; Issue Replacement for lost , stolen, or mutilated standard or special airworthiness certificates if the proper documentation can be obtained from the applicant. Limitations; None
FUNCTION CODE 18; Issue Original export airworthiness approval for Class I products in accordance with the provisions of 14 CFR Part 21, subpart L. Limitations; None
FUNCTION CODE 19; Issue Original export airworthiness approvals for Class II products (i.e., major components of a Class I product) that are manufactured and located in the U.S. in accordance with the provisions of 14 CFR Part 21, subpart L. Limitations; None
FUNCTION CODE 20; Issue Original export airworthiness approval for class III products that manufactured and located in the U.S. in accordance with 14 CFR part 21 , subpart L . When this function is delegated to an individual DAR, its application is limited to exporting of Class III products only when employed by an applicant who is the PAH of the product being exported. Limitations; None
FUNCTION CODE 21; Make conformity determinations on aircraft ,engines, propellers, and 14 CFR parts thereof (including prototype aircraft, test articles and installations) to be used for design evaluation programs , (e.g.,TC and supplemental type certification (STC) programs) , and complete all necessary reports. Limitations; None.
